Gas mileage will be the same about, cause its a big powerful motor in a small ass truck. Lots of guys with the second gens go with FI. Just make sure to stay away from a Corvette motor. Might be able to find a wrecked camaro, pull the whole motor, tranny, computer, wiring, etc. I would say go carbed. Easier install, easier to mod.
