i'm not one to get mad if i get pulled over speeding, or doing something dangerous or stupid. but i just got two tickets for tint being too dark and being too low.

first off yes i know my tint is illegal, i'm not too mad at that, but just a stupid law in general. plus the little meter she used said my tint is 25, but when i got it put on i asked for 35, but whatever. i'll pay that

she measured my front bumper and said i'm 3" off the ground, so what? then she said the legal limit is 14-22, B S!!! i guarantee 90% of cars (not trucks or anything else) are below that. then she tells me i could help myself by putting the stock one back on. i told her it was stock, then i asked her if she really thought every other car on the road was within that limit even stock. and she just said "well in va the limit is 14-22" so i'm fighting this bullshit.

ok so i found the law that states it,

Alteration of suspension system; bumper height limits; raising body above frame rail. -- No person shall drive on a public highway any motor vehicle registered as a passenger motor vehicle if it has been modified by alteration of its altitude from the ground to the extent that its bumpers, measured to any point on the lower edge of the main horizontal bumper bar, exclusive of any bumper guards, are not within the range of fourteen inches to twenty-two inches above the ground. Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions of this section, the range of bumper heights for motor vehicles bearing street rod license plates issued pursuant to ยง 46.2-747 shall be nine to twenty-two inches.

now seriously, someone measure their front bumper from the lowest point and tell me if any of you on any car fall within that range

stan the law states that the bumper may not be lower than 14". if she measured your truck at 3" she didnt measure it correctly. she measured from your valence. the code for altered suspension is 46.2-10.63. ill explain it a little more at bg if you bring your truck.

hmm...good call, but i'm sure my bumper is probably under 14 anyways. they need a clear description of what constitutes a bumper

i just reread it and saw this....

measured to any point on the lower edge of the main horizontal bumper bar

so i can prove that she didn't measure from the bottom of my bumper, but i'm still not in the legal limit. is this still enough to make them drop my ticket?

i had a cop measure mine when it was a 3/4 drop and said it was to low and i told him that he didnt measure right he got pissed but told him thats a valance the bumper starts here he re measured let me go, but u can still get a ticket for altered suspension if u lowered ur truck, even if its lifted cop told us u can do a body lift but no suspension alteration

well i think i can fight this ticket if i can prove that she didn't measure from the right point, thus leaving them no proof that i broke the law. however that doesn't stop them from waiting in the parking lot and giving me another ticket, or even more just to spite me.
